Every Sunday morning at 8 Casey Kasem takes us back to the 80’s with classic American Top 40 shows. This Sunday he features the top songs from June 22nd, 1985 it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Glenn Frey with “Smugglers Blues”.
The song appears on Glenn’s second solo album called “The Allnighter” which was released in 1984. It was his most successful solo project featuring the top 20 hits “Sexy Girl” and “Smugglers Blues” a song that went to #12 on the Hot 100. The video is always memorable, it won an MTV Video Music Award and inspired the 16th episode of “Miami Vice” which featured Glenn as an airplane pilot.
