For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we thank Clifton who texted in a request for today’s tune. From Living in a Box it’s “Living in a Box”!
The band from Sheffield, England formed in 1985 the recorded 5 Top 40 hits in the U.K. but their 1987 song “Living in a Box” was by far their biggest hit reaching #5 in England and #17 in America becoming their only hit in the United States.
The song’s title and I guess the band name came from Jon Bennett who was living in a small flat (how British!) and the video included an English DJ who how moves a cardboard cutout over his face.
Thanks Clifton for the suggestion for Living in a Box! Today’s Forgotten 45 is sponsored by Honey Creek Furniture in Manchester, Eastern Iowa’s fastest growing La-Z-Boy store. You’ll find them at honeycreekfurniture.com.
