Welcome to the Monday Forgotten 45 at 3:45! Nancy Wilson of Heart is celebrating her 72nd birthday so today’s choice features her on lead vocals for their hit “There’s a Girl”.
The sisters from Seattle, Ann & Nancy Wilson of Heart have had quite a career recording albums that reached the top 10 on the chart in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and even the 2010’s! Members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame since 2013, the group has sold over 50 million albums.
While Ann usually sang lead vocals on many of the Heart tunes, it was Nancy who sang lead on their #1 hit “These Dreams” and she’s also lead vocal on “There’s a Girl”, the third hit from their 1987 album “Bad Animals”. The song went to #12 on the Hot 100.
In their full 80’s hair glory, check out Heart with “There’s a Girl”! Today’s Forgotten 45 is sponsored by Honey Creek Furniture in Manchester, Eastern Iowa’s fastest growing La-Z-Boy store. You’ll find them at honeycreekfurniture.com.
