The Toronto Blue Jays are going to the World Series for the first time since 1993 AND Rush is getting ready for their 50 Something Tour in 2026.  It’s a convergence of Canada, so for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we bring you Bob & Doug McKenzie along with Geddy Lee with “Take Off”.

Of course Bob & Doug are SCTV legends Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis who rode the popularity of their characters into a 1981 comedy album called “The Great White North”.  It sold over a million copies in North America due to the popularity of “Take Off” a song that featured Moranis old school friend Geddy Lee on vocals.  The song went to #16 on the charts, a full 5 points higher than the Rush hit “New World Man”.

Grab your toques and back bacon you hosers, it’s Bob & Doug with “Take Off”!  Today’s Forgotten 45 sponsored by Honey Creek Furniture in Manchester, Eastern Iowa’s fastest growing La-Z-Boy store, you’ll find them at honeycreekfurniture.com.
