Yesterday was the 40th Anniversary of the Live Aid concerts in London and Philadelphia held July 13th, 1985.  So for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 how about a Philly band that performed that day, The Hooters with “And We Danced”.

The concerts held in both London and Philly featured an incredible lineup with bands like Queen, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, U2, the Rolling Stones, Madonna and more.  The event reached a worldwide audience of 1.9 billion people and at the time was the largest global broadcast of all-time.  The event raised over $100 million dollars for famine relief in Africa, spearheaded by Bob Geldof.

The Hooters, a Philly band performed in their hometown performing “All You Zombies”, and “And We Danced” their first of two top 40 hits, a song that went to #21 in the summer of ’85.
