It’s another birthday edition of the Forgotten 45 at 3:45 as Sir Paul McCartney celebrates his 83rd today! For today’s choice how about Paul’s first solo hit in 1971 “Another Day”.
The list of Paul McCartney’s songs, accolades, and awards would take hours, if not days. From his time with the Beatles, to Wings, and his solo work, he’s remained a part of of our musical world for decades and has written or co-written 32 number one songs.
After the break-up of the Beatles in 1970, Paul recorded “Another Day” and to no one’s surprise, the song became an international hit going #1 in France and Australia, #2 in the U.K. and the song went to #5 in the United States.
Paul was asked in an interview if he would ever retire, and he said “retire from what?!” We agree! I found a live video of Paul performing “Another Day” in 1993, it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
