Welcome to the Friday Forgotten 45 at 3:45! Today’s choice was a one-hit wonder that was on the charts June 6th, 1987 from The System it’s “Don’t Disturb This Groove”.
The synth-pop duo of Mic Murphy and David Frank met in the early 80’s, in fact David was working on a demo that was originally supposed to have pre-stardom Madonna on vocals. She backed out so he asked Mic to help. The System first hit the R&B charts in ’83 with a song called “You Are in My System”, but it was their 1987 song that gave the group their only top 40 hit as “Don’t Disturb This Groove” went to #4 on the charts.
A funky Friday Forgotten 45, The System with “Don’t Disturb This Groove”!
