Billy Joel announced that he’ll be releasing his first new song in years on February 1st! So for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, we go back to 1982 for his song “Allentown”.
The song was the second single from his “Nylon Curtain” album, one that Joel claims is one of his personal favorites and that he spent more time in the studio creating this album than any of his other projects. “Pressure” was the first hit, and “Allentown” brought attention to the plight of the declining steel industry.
