For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we pay tribute to Dave Mason who passed away on Sunday at the age of 79.  From 1977 it’s his classic tune “We Just Disagree”.

The English singer-songwriter was a founding member of the group Traffic and in his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame career worked with artists like Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Paul McCartney & Wings, Steve Winwood, and more.  But he’s best known for his solo hit “We Just Disagree” a song that was released in the Summer of ’77.  The song went to #12 on the Hot 100.

Mason passed away Sunday at his home in Nevada.  He had often said he wasn’t comfortable in the spotlight.  He was quoted as saying “I just wanted to write great music, make some money and have fun. And when I was younger, meet girls.”

I found a video of Dave performing “We Just Disagree” on the Midnight Special.  The Forgotten 45 is sponsored by Honey Creek Furniture, Eastern Iowa’s fastest growing La-Z-Boy store.  You’ll find them at honeycreekfurniture.com.
