It was on this date 39 years ago that the Eddie Murphy classic “Beverly Hills Cop” was released in theaters, so in celebration today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 is a song found on the soundtrack album from Patti LaBelle with “New Attitude”.
Eddie Murphy has been making the round promoting his Christmas movie “Candy Cane Lane” in the 80’s so he’s been seen everywhere. “Beverly Hills Cop” was the biggest movie of 1984 making over 230 million dollars at the box office and the soundtrack album was a huge hit as well with songs like “The Heat Is On”, “Axel F”, “Neutron Dance” and “New Attitude” which reached #17 on the charts in early ’85.
