Every Sunday afternoon at 4 105.7 KOKZ brings you Retro Pop Reunion and 4 hours of the greatest songs from the video music era. It’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Depeche Mode with “Policy of Truth”.
The English band was formed in 1980 and they came of age during the New Wave era with their electronic/synth pop sounds. They hit the top 40 charts in the US 6 different times, starting in 1984 with “People Are People” but their career really took off with the release of their “Violator” album in 1990.
“Policy of Truth” was the third hit from the album following “Personal Jesus” & “Enjoy the Silence”, the album was their first to reach the top 10 and “Policy of Truth” reached #15 on the Hot 100.
