For the Friday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we honor a sacred Massachusetts holiday, April 24th is New Kids on the Block Day! So in celebration today’s Forgotten is from NKOTB with “I’ll Be Loving You (Forever)”.
In 1989 Governor Mike Dukakis proclaimed that April 24th will be New Kids on the Block Day in tribute to a group of boys from Boston who were topping the charts that year with their 8 times platinum album “Hangin’ Tough”. The album featured 5 Top 40 hits including the #1 songs “Hangin’ Tough” and “I’ll Be Loving You”.
You can thank them (or blame them) for the future success of groups like the Backstreet Boys and N’Sync. Celebrating New Kids on the Block Day with “I’ll Be Loving You (Forever)”. The Forgotten 45 is sponsored by Honey Creek Furniture in Manchester, Eastern Iowa’s fastest growing La-Z-Boy store. You’ll find them at honeycreekfurniture.com.
