This Sunday afternoon at 4, welcomes Joe Cortese and his show Retro Pop Reunion to 105.7 KOKZ! Each week Joe will feature the biggest hits of the video music era, and this weekend he’s counting down the 40 most influential videos of all-time. One of them is my choice for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Deee-Lite with “Groove Is In The Heart”.
Released in August of 1990, the New York dance band Deee-Lite recorded a dance classic, becoming a world-wide hit and becoming their only pop hit in the US reaching #4 on the charts. One music reviewer called it “pure 70’s funk with a 90’s groove”.
