Welcome to the Monday edition of the Forgotten 45 at 3:45!  Today is another birthday edition, as we celebrate the 83rd birthday of Dash Crofts of Seals & Crofts with “Get Closer”.

The duo of Jimmy Seals & Dash Crofts recorded 8 Top 40 hits in the 70’s and three of them went top 10, “Summer Breeze” in 72, “Diamond Girl” in ’73, and “Get Closer” was a #6 hit in 1976.  The song was the title track to their 8th album and features vocals by Carolyn Wills a former member of the Honey Cones.

Of course the same time on the charts was Jim’s brother England Dan Seals with John Ford Coley with “Nights Are Forever”.  Happy Birthday to Dash Crofts, enjoy “Get Closer” today’s Forgotten 45!
