As we head into another summer weekend in Eastern Iowa, don’t forget Nina Blackwood hosts Absolutely 80’s every Saturday night from 9 to midnight. It’s where I found today’s Friday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Cutting Crew with “I’ve Been In Love Before”.
The English band hit #1 with their first hit single “I Just Died in Your Arms ” in 1986 and “I’ve Been in Love Before” was their 2nd and final top 10 hit reaching #9. Cutting Crew even earned a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist of 1987.
But sadly disputes with their management delayed their follow-up project, and they weren’t able to recapture the success of their first two songs.
