It’s Friday! Time for the Absolutely 80’s Friday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 and a song you can hear again Saturday night from 9 to midnight with Nina Blackwood, Paula Abdul with “Forever Your Girl”.
Paula made her mark as a successful choreographer working with artists like George Michael, ZZ Top, Duran Duran, and Janet Jackson. She saved up some of her earnings to do a singing demo and was signed by Virgin Records. The entire album cost only $72,000 to produce….and oh did it produce!
Paula’s debut album was at the time the most successful debut project of all-time and the first time an artist had 4 #1 hits from their first album. “Straight Up”, “Cold Hearted”, “Opposites Attract”, and today’s Forgotten 45, “Forever Your Girl”.
