On this day in 1978 The Cars released their debut album, so for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, we’ll play something from that fine album, The Cars with “Moving in Stereo”.

The Cars sold over 6 million albums, pretty awesome for a debut project and featured iconic Cars tunes like “Just What I Needed”, “My Best Friends Girl”, and “Good Times Roll”.  “Moving In Stereo” wasn’t officially released as a single, but it did receive rock radio airplay.

Sung by the band’s Benjamin Orr, the song was used in the infamous Phoebe Cates pool scene in the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High.  Doesn’t anybody knock anymore?!
