We’re driving toward the 41st KOKZ 4th Street Cruise this Saturday in Waterloo!  Yesterday we were in the Drivers Seat with Sniff N the Tears, today for the Forgotten 45 at 3:45 it’s Cyndi Lauper with “I Drove All Night”.

The song was originally intended for Roy Orbison, who did record the song before his death, but his version wasn’t released until 1992.  Cyndi’s version is included on her “A Night to Remember” album and the song became the last of her top 40 hits in 1989, reaching #6 on the charts.  And Celine Dion also did a version of the song as well that was released in 2003.

Cyndi still performs the song in concert, check out the video to “I Drove All Night” today’s Forgotten 45.
