Our Friday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 can be heard again Saturday night when Nina Blackwood hosts “Absolutely 80’s from 9 to midnight. It’s from Dire Straits with “So Far Away”.
The song was the 3rd top 20 hit from their album “Brothers in Arms”, their biggest commercial success by far. The album sold over 9 million copies in the US alone and went on to become one of the biggest sellers in history selling over 30 million worldwide.
“So Far Away” was the first single from the album in the UK, but was released later in the states, the ended up peaking at #19 on the Hot 100.
