For the Monday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we wish a very happy 67th birthday to the lovely Sheena Easton! From 1984 it’s her song “Strut”.
The Scottish singer was discovered on the BBC reality show “The Big Time: Pop Singer” in 1980 and she first hit the charts that year with her song “Modern Girl”. It turned out be the first of her 14 top 40 hits. She won the Grammy for Best New Artist in 1982, then after declining record sales, shifted to a sexier image with her 1984 album “A Private Heaven” which featured the #7 song “Strut”.
She currently resides in Henderson, Nevada and still does shows around the world. Happy Birthday Sheena Easton, check out the video to “Strut”. Today’s Forgotten 45 is sponsored by Honey Creek Furniture in Manchester, Eastern Iowa’s fastest growing La-Z-Boy store. You’ll find them at honeycreekfurniture.com.
