This Sunday morning on American Top 40 the 80’s Casey Kasem counts down the top songs from December 19th, 1987, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Prince with “I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man.”
The song was the final single release from his “Sign O’ the Times” album and became the third top 10 song from the album. Though not as successful as his “Purple Rain” album (honestly what could be?), it was his most critically acclaimed work. In 2017 the album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
