Every Saturday morning from 9 to noon, 105.7 KOKZ brings you American Top 40 the 70’s. This Saturday, Casey Kasem features November 18th, 1972, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from the Spinners with “I’ll Be Around”.
The song was originally released as the B side to their song “How Could I Let You Get Away” but radio DJ’s started spinning “I’ll Be Around” and reached #3 on the charts, becoming the first top 10 hit for the Spinners.
They went on to have five more top ten hits in the 70’s. Here’s their performance of “I’ll Be Around” on Soul Train with today’s Forgotten 45.
