Every Sunday morning from 8 to noon, 105.7 KOKZ brings you Classic American Top 40 the 80’s! This Sunday morning Casey Kasem features the top songs from Halloween 1981, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Pat Benatar with “Promises in the Dark”.
This song was released in the Summer of 1981 and was the second single from her “Precious Time” album which also featured “Fire and Ice”. “Promises in the Dark” barely made the top 40 in the US reaching #38 on the pop charts and the top 20 on the rock.
It’s one of the few Benatar hits that were written by Pat and her husband Neil Giraldo and I know it received radio airplay in Eastern Iowa back in the early 80’s.
She’ll be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in just a few days, here’s Pat Benatar with “Promises in the Dark” today’s Forgotten 45.
