It’s Friday afternoon and we need some 80’s! Today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 can be heard again tomorrow night on Nina Blackwood’s Absolutely 80’s from 9 to Midnight, it’s from The Escape Club with “Wild Wild West”!
The English pop band formed in 1983 in London and reached their biggest success with the title track of their “Wild Wild West” album that reached #1 in the Fall of 1988. While the video received major airplay on MTV, it was banned from British Television for unclear reasons, reports and band members speculate it was due to the use of disembodied limbs and lingerie in a way that came off as offensive or sexist.
