105.7 KOKZ is your home for classic American Top 40 shows every weekend. This Saturday morning from 9 to noon, Casey counts down the top songs from August 27th, 1977, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 from Crosby, Stills, & Nash “Just a Song Before I Go”.
The song was the biggest chart hit for the folk-rock trio, hitting #7 back in ’77, it’s also one of the band’s shortest songs, just over 2 minutes long. The song was written by Graham Nash on somewhat of a bet. They were in Hawaii and a friend challenged him to write a “song before you go”. The bet was $500 and the result is today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45!
