Just last week we heard the news of the passing of Andy Fletcher of Depeche Mode at the far too young age of 60. Fletch was inspired by bands like The Cure, Kraftwerk, early Human League, and OMD. The band was formed in 1980 in England and over the decade found international success, highlighted by a 1988 performance at the Rose Bowl that had over 60,000 in attendance.
Inducted as members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020, Depeche Mode has sold over 100 million albums world-wide with songs like “People Are People”, “Personal Jesus”, and “Enjoy the Silence”. Today’s Forgotten 45 is “Policy of Truth” a top 15 song from 1990.
