It’s safe to say we live in interesting times. It’s been a crazy couple of years, so for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, I found a song that was on the charts today in 1979, one with a hopeful message. England Dan & John Ford Coley with “Love Is the Answer”.
The song was written by Todd Rundgren for his band Utopia in 1977, the song didn’t chart, but Dan Seals and John Ford Coley took “Love” into the top 10 in 1979 and in this live clip I’ve attached, John says that “Love Is the Answer” was one of the only non-disco songs that year to reach the top ten. The power of a great song.
Dan went on to a very successful Country career and sadly passed away in 2009 of cancer at the age of 61. As for John Ford Coley, I found a live performance of him discussing and performing today’s Forgotten. “Love Is the Answer”.
