Peter Wolf was born on this date in 1946 as Peter W. Blankfield in the Bronx, New York. He was once a DJ in Boston known as “Woofa Goofa” and was quite popular with the late night audience.
He joined the J. Geils Band in 1967, but the band really struck gold in the early days of MTV with pop staples like “Centerfold”, “Freeze Frame” and today’s Forgotten 45 which squeaked into the Top 40 at #38 back in 1980.
