Remembering The King on the day of his death in 1977.

Elvis Presley – T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Not to be confused with the Leiber and Stoller song “Trouble”, that Presley first recorded in July 1958, “T-R-O-U-B-L-E” was written by country music songwriter, Jerry Chestnut in 1975.

Elvis recorded the original version the same year and released it a month later. Chestnut imagined a woman walking in the door of a bar and causing problems with her beauty and provacativeness, as the men all noticed her and began to vie for her affection. Eventually, the men would end up brawling, to find out which of them would be the last man standing.

The song went to #11 on the Hot Country Songs chart and peaked at #35 on the Hot 100.
