Eric Clapton – After Midnight

In 1970, Eric Clapton released his cover of J.J. Cale’s 1966 song, “After Midnight”. It was a hit and a big deal coming from his first solo album!
That version peaked at #18 on the hot 100 and is still a favorite of Clapton’s, to play live.
In 1987, Polydor Records released a rather comprehensive box set, ‘Eric Clapton – Crossroads’ with six LP’s, four CD’s or four cassettes, containing 83 songs from his career, going back to 1964 with The Yardbirds to 1987.
There were a couple new recordings, one being a remake of “After Midnight” that was used in a pretty cool Michelob beer commercial. This is my favorite version of the song.
