Eric Clapton’s ‘Journeyman’ album from 1989 was a MAJOR hit for him with fans, young and old.

Clapton, himself, has said that this is one of his favorite album in his discography.

“Pretending” went to #55 on the Hot 100 and #1 on Mainstream Rock charts, but the song, “Bad Love” also topped the Mainstream Rock chart as well as winning him a Grammy for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Male.

In my opinion, there is NO BAD SONG on this one. Clapton had, recently, gotten clean with his most successful stint in rehab, and you can hear it on this record. He’s ALWAYS had both feet in the blues and he brings that back in a big way on ‘Journeyman’.

The blues standard, “Before You Accuse Me” is killer. “Old Love”, “No Alibis” and the amazing “Running On Faith” are high point on this album, as far as I’m concerend.
