For the first time ever, the Milwaukee Brewers are World Series Champions defeating the Tampa Bay Rays in 5 games. So in celebration today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 takes us back to Milwaukee 50 years ago for the theme from Laverne & Shirley with “Making Our Dreams Come True”.
A spin-off from “Happy Days” Laverne & Shirley ran 8 seasons on ABC starting in 1976 following Laverne DeFazio and Shirley Feeney as bottle cappers at the Shotz Brewery in Milwaukee. The girls along with Lenny & Squiggy were the #1 show in television by the third season. The theme song from the show was sung by Cyndi Grecco and “Making Our Dreams Come True” went to #25 on the Hot 100. It was her only chart hit.
I’m guessing the beer is still flowing across Wisconsin, congratulations to the Brewers! Crack a cold one and check out “Making Our Dreams Come True” it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
