Welcome to the Monday Forgotten 45 at 3:45! I saw that the classic movie “The Terminator” debuted in theaters on this date in 1984, so today’s choice was on the charts this week in ’84 from Dennis DeYoung it’s his solo hit “Desert Moon”.
The lead singer of Styx in the 70’s and 80’s went solo in 1984 with his album “Desert Moon” and the title track became the only solo single from any Styx member to reach the top 10 peaking at #10. The song was originally going to be a Styx track but as we all know, they broke up.
Also in October of ’84 Arnold Schwarzenegger (I’ll be back!) starred in “The Terminator” a movie that made nearly $80 million dollars at the box office and spawned, up to now, 5 more Terminator movies! From the charts today in 1984 check out the video for Dennis DeYoung and “Desert Moon” it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
