Country legend John Anderson passed away this week at the age of 71, so for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 here’s his biggest crossover hit, from 1983 it’s “Swingin”.

The singer from Florida charted 40 different songs on the country chart including five #1 songs, one of which was “Swingin” which became the biggest selling single ever for Warner Brothers Records, so big it reached #43 on the Hot 100 on the pop charts.  Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2024, John was last publicly seen three days ago for the Hall of Fame induction ceremony for Tim McGraw.

Dawn and I had the chance to meet John back in the 90’s and he could not have been a nicer guy.  I found a video from a couple of years of him singing his hit “Swingin”.  It’s John Anderson with today’s Forgotten 45.
