Today’s funky Forgotten 45 at 3:45 was on the charts October 6th, 1984, from Michael’s brother Jermaine Jackson it’s “Dynamite”.
1984 was all about the Jacksons! Michael’s “Thriller” album continued to dominate and the Jackson brothers “Victory” tour hit 55 arenas in the United States and Canada between July and December of that year. Playing in front of over 2 and half million fans, the tour generated $75 million dollars. Of course that started even more family turmoil during and after the tour was over.
On top of that, in an effort to capitalize on Jackson mania, brother Jermaine was also on the charts in ’84 with “Dynamite” which became the 5th of his 7 top 40 solo hits reaching #15 on the charts. And the video for the song was directed by the same guy who did “Beat It” for Michael. From the charts this date in ’84 it’s Jermaine Jackson with “Dynamite” it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
