For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to the charts on September 29th, 1988! From the English duo Erasure it’s “Chains of Love”.
Formed in 1982 in London, the synth pop tandem of Andy Bell and Vince Clarke found their biggest success in England hitting the British Top 40 24 straight times between 1986 and 2007. In the States they broke through in ’88 with their first chart hits, “A Little Respect” and “Chains of Love” which became their first American hit reaching #12 on the Hot 100.
