Born Joan Marie Larkin on September 22nd, 1958, the “Queen of Rock and Roll” performed with the Runaways from 1975 to 1979 and and after their breakup she went solo and released her first album “Bad Reputation” followed by her biggest success, the 1981 “I Love Rock and Roll” which featured the #1 title track and her second top ten hit “Crimson and Clover”, a remake of the 1968 #1 tune by Tommy James and the Shondells. Joan’s version went to #7 on the Hot 100. She hit the top 10 one more time in 1988 with “I Hate Myself For Loving You”.
