Today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 was on the charts on September 15th, 1984! From The Fixx it’s “Are We Ourselves?”.

The English band was formed in 1979 was originally called The Portraits but changed their name to The Fix with one x.  Their record company was worried about the drug user implication so they settled on adding another x to their name and became The Fixx.  Anyway…they broke through in 1983 with their platinum album “Reach The Beach” which featured “One Thing Leads to Another” and “Saved By Zero”.

In the Summer of ’84 they released their follow-up album “Phantoms” which featured “Are We Ourselves?” which became the only hit from the project reaching #15 on the charts.  It also became the first music video to feature a mobile phone!

From this date in ’84 check out The Fixx with “Are We Ourselves?” it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
