Today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 was a suggestion from Paul on our text line at 319-364-1057. He wanted to hear Asia with “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes”.
The supergroup featuring John Wetton, Carl Palmer, Geoff Downes, and Steve Howe had quite a debut in 1982 with their self-titled album which sold over 4 million copies and featured their biggest hit “Heat of the Moment”. In the Summer of ’83 they released their follow-up “Alpha”, it featured the top 10 hit “Don’t Cry” and “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes”, a song that went to #34 on the charts and became Asia’s final top 40 hit.
