For the Friday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to the charts on June 26th, 1993, which somehow is now 33 years ago?! Sting had another hit with “If I Ever Lose My Faith in You”.
Of course a member of The Police from 1977 to 1986, Sting also found solo success starting with his debut solo album “The Dream of the Blue Turtles” which featured the top ten tunes “If You Love Somebody Set Them Free” and “Fortress Around Your Heart”. In 1993 he released his 4th album “Ten Summoner’s Tales” it was nominated for 6 Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. From that album “If I Ever Lose My Faith in You” became his 8th top 40 reaching #17 on the Hot 100.
Tonight Sting is playing a show in Denmark, part of a European tour. He’ll return to the U.S. in the Fall, including a couple of shows in Minneapolis. It’s Sting with “If I Ever Lose My Faith In You” from 1993, it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
