Today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 was on the charts June 23rd, 1984. From the “Footloose” soundtrack it’s Kenny Loggins with “I’m Free (Heaven Helps the Man)”.
The song was the 2nd Kenny Loggins hit from “Footloose” an album that sold over 9 million copies featuring the title track by Kenny as well as “Holding Out for a Hero” by Bonnie Tyler, “Dancing in the Sheets” by Shalamar, and “Almost Paradise” by Mike Reno and Ann Wilson. “I’m Free” was the 6th single released from the album reaching #22 on the charts and as my son could tell you, was also featured in Grand Theft Auto V, where he’s learned several classic hits!
