This Sunday morning at 8 join Casey Kasem for another American Top 40 show from the 80’s! This weekend he’ll feature the top songs from June 11th, 1988, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Bruce Hornsby & the Range with “The Valley Road”.
In 1986 they released their debut album (one of my first CD’s by the way!) and it was a huge success, selling over 3 million copies and featuring the title track and #1 song “The Way It Is” as well as “Mandolin Rain”, and “Every Little Kiss”. “The Valley Road” was the first single from their follow-up album “Scenes From the Southside” which was released in May of ’88. “Valley Road” continued their hot streak reaching #5 on the charts.
Bruce Hornsby will be performing at Hancher in Iowa City on September 30th, in the meantime enjoy the video for “The Valley Road” it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
