105.7 KOKZ welcomes John Waite and John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band to Meskwaki Veterans Convention Center next Friday night May 8th!  For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to 1978 for John on vocals for the Baby’s “Every Time I Think of You”.

The British band called themselves The Babys as a joke, since at the time record companies were only interested in signing teen and pre-teen bands, and weren’t interested in rock groups.  They thought they’d keep the name for a few weeks then change it, but it turned out the name drew attention to their shows in London.

The band had three top 40 hits in the States “Isn’t It Time”, “Back On My Feet Again”, and “Every Time I Think of You” a song that went to #13 in 1978.  Of course John Waite went solo and hit #1 with his classic tune “Missing You”.

You can win free tickets to see John in concert next Friday, just text SHOW to 319-364-1057 to be entered.  We’ll pick the winners on Monday morning.  In the meantime, enjoy the Babys with “Every Time I Think of You”!  The Forgotten 45 is sponsored by Honey Creek Furniture in Manchester, Eastern Iowa’s fastest growing La-Z-Boy Store. You’ll find them at honeycreekfurniture.com.
