105.7 KOKZ is your home for classic American Top 40 shows every weekend! This Saturday morning from 8 to noon join Casey Kasem as he features the top songs from April 21st, 1979, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Bob Welch with “Precious Love”.
Born in Hollywood to a show business family, Bob learned to play guitar in his teens as he became interested in jazz, rhythm & blues, and rock. He was a member of Fleetwood Mac from 1971 to 1974 where he was ultimately replaced by Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. I wonder how that worked out for them?!
In ’77 he released his debut solo album “French Kiss” which featured the hits “Ebony Eyes” and “Sentimental Lady” and in ’79 he recorded “Three Hearts” which included his final top 40 hit in “Precious Love” a song that reached #19 on the charts.
Hear it again Saturday morning on AT40 it’s Bob Welch with “Precious Love”. The Forgotten 45 is sponsored by Honey Creek Furniture in Manchester, Eastern Iowa’s fastest growing La-Z-Boy store. You’ll find them at honeycreekfurniture.com.
