105.7 KOKZ hosts an 80’s party every Saturday night from 9 to midnight with Nina Blackwood’s Absolutely 80’s. One of the tunes on the show this weekend is today’s Forgotten 45 from Jody Watley it’s “Looking for a New Love”.
The singer from Chicago started her career as a dancer on Soul Train, then joined the group Shalamar from 1977 to 1983. In 1987 she released her self titled debut album which featured three top 10 hits “Don’t You Want Me”, “Some Kind of Lover”, and her first single “Looking for a New Love” a song that went to #2 and stayed there for a month. She went on to win a Grammy for Best New Artist in 1988.
