As I was searching for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 I saw a story on our website talking about a band’s first song to reach a billion streams on Spotify and on You Tube.  That band?  Kiss with their 1979 song “I Was Made For Lovin’ You”.

From their 7th album “Dynasty” in 1979 during the heart of the disco era, legend has it that Kiss members said anyone could write a disco hit, and while never confirmed, the proof was “I Was Made For Lovin’ You”.  The song was #1 in Canada, New Zealand, The Netherlands, and Portugal and it reached #11 on the Hot 100 here in the U.S.

The song became their second single to be certified gold, the other being “Beth” in 1976.  Now they are celebrating a billion streams on YouTube and Spotify.  It’s Kiss with “I Was Made For Lovin’ You”.  Today’s Forgotten 45 is sponsored by Honey Creek Furniture in Manchester, Eastern Iowa’s fastest growing La-Z-Boy store.  You’ll find them at honeycreekfurniture.com.
