Can you believe it’s been 44 years since Ozzy Osbourne bit the head off of a bat in Des Moines?! It happened on this date in 1982, and so did today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Eddie Rabbitt with “Someone Could Lose a Heart Tonight”.
The Brooklyn born singer had quite a career with 17 #1 songs on the Country charts, and his success also crossed over to the pop charts as well with songs like “Suspicions” “Drivin’ My Live Away”, and “I Love a Rainy Night”. “Someone Could Lose a Heart Tonight” was released in November of 1981 and became a #1 country hit and #15 on the pop charts.
And Ozzy, well he earned his “Prince of Darkness” title that night in Des Moines when a fan tossed what Ozzy thought was a rubber toy bat on the stage. Of course, the bat was real and a rock & roll legendary story was born!
From January of 1982 it’s Eddie Rabbitt with “Someone Could Love a Heart Tonight” today’s Forgotten 45.
