All this week on the Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we’re featuring songs that were on the chart January of 1986, 40 years ago! Today’s tune is from Sade with “The Sweetest Taboo”.
In 1984 the British band Sade burst onto the music scene with their debut album “Diamond Life” which sold 4 million copies and featured their first big hit “Smooth Operator”. In November of ’85 they released their second project called “Promise” and it became their first album to hit #1 in the U.S. and in England. The first single was “The Sweetest Taboo” and the song became their second straight top 5 hit.
