We continue our week of Forgotten 45’s at 3:45 that were on the chart in January of 1986, 40 years ago! Today’s tune is from Stevie Nicks with “Talk To Me”.
The song appears on Stevie’s third solo album “Rock A Little” and was released in October of 1985. Reaction to the album was mixed and Stevie was struggling with a cocaine problem. In fact she checked into the Betty Ford clinic at the conclusion of her 1986 tour.
“Talk to Me” was written Chas Sandford who also co-wrote “Missing You” for John Waite. He also played most of the instruments on the song. Stevie at first wasn’t a big fan of the song, but after some encouraging, it was recorded and became a #4 hit and her sixth Top 40 solo hit.
