Welcome to the Monday Forgotten 45 at 3:45! All this week, I’ll feature songs that were on the charts in January of 1986, which I’m being told is now 40 years ago! Today’s Forgotten is from Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine with “Conga”.
I figure the first Monday of the new year needed an up tempo tune, and the Miami Sound Machine delivers with “Conga” which was their first ever chart hit. Released in the Fall of 1985 the song was certified Gold with sales of over 500,000 copies and the song reached #10 on the Hot 100 and ended up the #40 song of 1986.
